Here at Eisai Tea, we did not just encompass sustainability by holding certificates. We truly believe in sustainable practices from the ground up. From sourcing processes and growing standards, to our packaging and shipping methods, we are proud of following our transparent ethics of being sustainable. We firmly believe that when we push the industry standard higher, we not only benefit our customers, but also the supply chain and the environment as a whole, and that’s our definition of sustainability.
Not only did we source the tenderest buds and leaves, we also engaged in building our independent farms years ago because we aim to set the standard that is beyond the organic certificate. One of our farms ‘Yunnan Baoshu Farm’ produces the Yunnan Breakfast tea and Wild Yunnan Black, all of which are hundred year old cultivars. Because the ancient trees are so tall, it makes pesticide and machine-plucking and even human irrigation impossible, making these teas truly organic. The fact that there are limited human activities on the borderline mountains ensures a 100% wild growing environment, rendering a taste so special unlike other easily accessible varieties.
Our ‘Xiangshan’ farm produces top quality Tieguanyin Iron Goddess with the commitment of not using pesticides or any chemicals. Besides being hand picked, teas will be charcoal roasted and processed in our sterilized facility before they are sealed and delivered to your doorstep.
